Beacon Families-
We are getting close to the end of the school year and the teams are working tirelessly to have everything ready for our students return in August. This past school year our focus was on the safety of students and staff, continuity in programming and equitable access to resources for all of our students. As we prepare for what lies ahead, we are most excited to welcome all of our students safely back into the building to participate in engaging, meaningful learning experiences on a daily basis.
The Beacon Network, in conjunction with DPS, is taking all necessary precautionary measures to ensure a safe environment for all. We understand and respect that some families, for various reasons, have reservations about returning to the in-person setting in August. In response to this portion of our population, Denver Public Schools is offering a remote/online model through Denver Online High School. Students who choose to enroll will be assigned a certified teacher and will complete all of their coursework through the online programming. Please note when students choose the DPS remote/online option they are not allowed to change back to the original school during the 2021-2022 school year. Beacon Network Schools will offer a similar option if this is requested by our families. With that in mind, we will need to determine approximately how many of our families are interested in continuing in a remote setting for the 2021-2022 school year.
Once we have an approximate number of families that would prefer to stay within the Beacon Network and would prefer to stay online within our system, we will notify those selecting this option of what the Beacon Online Program will look like for the upcoming school year. Nos acercamos al final del año escolar y nuestro equipo está trabajando para tener todo listo para que nuestros estudiantes regresen en Agosto. El año escolar pasado, nuestro enfoque estuvo en la seguridad de los estudiantes y el personal, la continuidad en la programación y el acceso equitativo a los recursos para todos nuestros estudiantes. Beacon Network, junto con DPS, está tomando todas las medidas de precaución necesarias para garantizar un regreso seguro para todos. Entendemos y respetamos que algunas familias, por diversas razones, tienen preocupaciones sobre regresar en persona en Agosto. En respuesta a esta porción de nuestra población, las Escuelas Públicas de Denver ofrecen clases remoto/En línea a través de la Escuela Preparatoria de Denver en Línea. A los estudiantes que elijan inscribirse se les asignará un maestro certificado y completarán todos sus cursos a través de la programación en línea. Tenga en cuenta que cuando los estudiantes eligen la opción remoto/en línea de DPS, no se les permite volver a la escuela durante el año escolar 2021-2022.
